The Ask:

As WA’s premier art institution, and after one of the busiest years it had ever experienced, the Art Gallery of WA needed to compile its annual report. This report is provided to government as well as stakeholders, and it essential in creating transparency for the WA community about the work that AGWA does to promote art in all its formats in WA and to visitors.

What we did:

Working closely with the internal marketing and communications team at AGWA, we developed a narrative and chapter plan to bring to life AGWA’s multi-format experiences, covering design, art exhibitions, experiential and fashion in both metro Perth and regional areas.

We then gathered information subject matter leads across the organisation to add both detail and context for the work done, as well as highlight the way ahead.

Part of this was to ensure that we created more context around the unique role that AGWA plays in the art gallery space, as the only major art gallery in WA as compared to other States, and one capable of bringing in major international exhibitions, and supporting young WA artists.

As well as the narrative and content, we also worked with the AGWA marketing and branding team to redevelop the design of the annual report, to make it more appealing, easier to read, and to bring the artwork to life.

The Result:

In a short time-frame, we successfully developed and completed a beautiful and cohesive annual report for AGWA. The report told AGWA’s story around its success, growth and significant wins for the year, and highlighted the plans AGWA is developing to continue elevating the quality and access to art in WA.
